Restrings

We'd be happy to restring your instrument for you if you don't know how or are unconfortable with the process.

• Basic Steel string (acoustic, electric, bass) - $18 + Strings

• Nylon string, Floyd Rose (or similar), 12 - string, banjo, mandolin - $35 + Strings

Setups

​

Calgary weather is hard on our instruments. The constant temperature shifts coupled with the arid air makes wood do some pretty incredible things. The setup includes a full inspection, neck relief adjustment, string action, intonation, pickup height adjustment and restringing (strings not included in price - can be supplied at additional cost). We will be happy to set your gear up to your specifications.

• Standard Setup - Acoustic, Electric, Bass guitars (hardtail or basic tremolo) -$60

• Specialty Setup - Mandolin, Banjo, Archtop, or guitars with Floyd Rose or similar - $80

• Full Disassemble and cleaning with Setup - $10

Nuts and Saddles

​

All of our nuts and saddles are handmade from cattle bone sourced from our own Southern Alberta ranchers and are processed into blanks right here in Calgary. Saxby Music takes pride in only offering the best - no plastic or "Graphite-infused" parts here.

• Nut or Saddle replacement - $110 + parts

Electronics

​

Electric guitars offer many options as far as pickups and wiring styles go - we can make it work for you. 

​

• Pickup installation - $55-75 each for Solidbody instruments 

• Add $10 for active guitar pickups

• Acoustic and Hollow-bodies are by individual estimate

• Volume/Tone potentiometers, Switches, Output jacks - $40 for the first, each additional add $20 + parts

• Coil-tap/phase switching can be added for $50 each +parts

Fretwork

​

We can correct any problems associated with fret, and as each case is different - jobs are quoted individually

​

• Fretwork is quoted on an hourly basis at shop rate of $70/hr

​

Bridge Reglue 

​

The rule of thumb is if you can fit a business card under the backside of your acoustic guitar's bridge, it's time for a reset and reglue.

​

• Bridge Reset and reglue - $140 and up

​
